A great family trip that isn't too far away and one that is made for all ages.

Our trip to Rock City Enchanted Pumpkin Patch

We headed to Rock City, which is in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Technically it's in Georgia but close enough that everybody thinks of it as Chattanooga, Tennessee. Located on Lookout Mountain, it's a great place to visit any time of the year but at this time of the year in October it changes into what they call their Enchanted Pumpkin Patch.

We headed out to visit during the week when the crowds are not so bad. We wanted to get there before the hurricane hit in case that did damage and we wanted to see all the different trails and exhibits in their full glory.

We had a rough time trying to get there as construction on I-24 is always difficult. This particular week it was really rough to where we had to do some unique back roads to get to Lookout Mountain but we did finally make it and didn't have any trouble parking. We entered in about an hour before the sun went down, which gave us time to see the cliffs and the mountain before it got dark and the lights came on for the Enchanted Pumpkin Patch.

We tried their drinks (they were bubbling) and their popcorn, which was fresh, and enjoyed both as the sun was setting. Then we finally headed to one of the five trails that you take to see all the different exhibits and it was a really good time.

I took my Fuji XT5 and the newer version of the Fuji 16-55 mm lens, which worked really well for opening up wide or getting a little bit of distance for the exhibits that we saw on the trail. Colors really popped, of course, with the lighting that they had there and I was pleased with how most of the images turned out.

We had a great time and I would encourage you to go as well. Tickets aren't cheap but it was a good time. I would definitely try it at least once and then save your pennies to go back for their Christmas show, which is always a great time as well.
